A robe and a degree....

Just give a guy a robe, degree, title and a microphone and you have people ready to fall at their feet and heed their words. Those who are respectors of men and their positions deserve everything they get...deception. Where in the Bible are we told to follow men, listen to lectures, or join denominations?

"Love your neighbor as yourself". This word love translated in the Greek is agape love. My understanding of this verse is that we love the SOUL of others as we do our own. Indeed, all the issues of self-hatred, etc. stem as a RESULT of sin. When we die to self we are dying to all our fleshly desires. As we all know, when we are born-again new desires are placed in us because we are new creatures in Christ. I believe, no I know, that people with self-hatred need to be treated with compassion. People do need to know their value to God. After all, if we weren't worth something to Him He never would have sent His precious Son.

This makes the training of Rick Warren and his wife at Schuller's Institute quite important. She raved about Schuller's Institute in Christianity Today. Read quotes by them about Schuller at www.lighthousetrailsresearch.com

It comes as no surprise to hear that Schuller said those things. I have seen him have some ungodly people stand behind his pulpit. But along with him, address the other heretics such as Copeland, Hinn, Meyer, Dollar, Parsley, and all the other Word of Faith preachers, who are sneaking ungodly doctrine in our teaching today. TBN, the largest Christian broadcaster is full of and endorses these heretics. We are in the last days, to be sure. God bless you for standing up and telling the truth!!!!

I heard Schuller on the "White Horse Inn" (a radio program) and they really took him to task. At one point he walked out on the interview and then came back. The hosts are from "Modern Reformation Magazine", Mike Horton, etc. Schuller talked about all of the things Brannon mentioned and the hosts justs went to the Bible. The interview might still be on the white horse inn web site, I suggest everybody listen to it. Also, Modern Reformation Magazine is one of the best sources of info. on the problems with today's Church, which includes Evangelicals.

There is no conversion without repentance. If self love is the root to our spiritual need then there is no need for the shedding of blood which contradicts Hebrews 9:22. Then there would be no need for Jesus Christ to pay the penalty for our sins. All I need to do is love myself more. This is nonsense. I thank God my salvation is not based on my self love which comes natural to man and is the root to many evil deeds to put our selfish desires first. I know myself enough to know I am selfish and need to repent and accept God's way of dealing with my sin problem. Jesus being God was the exact opposite and by His grace paid the penalty for my sin. Satan will do anything to keep us from repentance.

Schuller often makes statements about Jesus Christ, and the Redemption, that are corrupt, heretical, and really, pathetic. Schuller's words, are often not only those of a heretic, but those of a lost soul. Im not being harsh. I'm being Biblical. Do you believe that a person can make these statements who HIMSELF has comes to terms with his personal sin, has repented, and has received the grace of God? But the man has DR. before his name, so who am I to question him? Actually, I dont need to BE anyone. Paul already tells us to expose people like Schuller publicly after they have been approached privately and Schuller HAS. And having done that, Paul said to WITHDRAW FROM THEM. But what many Christians do is send in more money. Many other leaders embrace him because he has built a successful big church. And how can you argue with that? It must, many feel, be the result of Gods blessings. Other ministers the likes of Jack Hayford, and evem Billy Graham, and many others embrace him, and even visit his church. Jack Hayford participated in a leadership conference in January at Schullers church. This is not only sad, but at some point, a participation in the heresy even if these other ministers dont actually embrace the teaching of Schuller. When you know what a guy preaches, and invite him to preach in your organization, or go to his, you are affirming him, and responsible for what he preaches under your affirmation. Do these other ministers read Schuller's books? Do they even CARE what is being taught? Schuller has been at this for 30 years. There is no confusion here; no excuse. Do these ministers realize that when you embrace such a person publicly that you are telling everyone that you embrace his teaching? Why do we think God tells us to withdraw from false teachers because He wants us to be mean to them? To hate them? No. Because it is the love of God and the Truth that MANDATES that we withdraw from those who are preaching heresy, lest others stumble, and the Truth be polluted. Robert Schuller doesnt simply teach false doctrine once in awhile. He promotes THE false doctrine of man's glory. Indeed, his written works, and ministry, are totally DEFINED by this false teaching. The bottom line of his teaching is: Man is not really guilty of anything except not loving himself enough. THAT is sin. (After all we do have to bring SOME Bible terms in, dont we, in order to sound as if we are preaching the gospel!) And so, the solution for man is not repentance of sin, and then salvation through death and resurrection in Christ. The solution is to be AFFIRMED to have ones self-esteem enhanced. If you read through the quotes from Schuller, you will, in a nutshell, see exactly what Satan wants to promote: A gospel that affirms man just like he is all in the name of Gods love. This is really the principle of Satan in a nutshell. You will see a gospel that never forces you to face what you are without God, and the fact that you have been wrong with Him. Rather, everything is redefined to keep you IN ADAM, affirmed, and simply needing, "a hug." And Jesus is provided as the One to give it to you.

You stated "When you know what a guy preaches, and invite him to preach in your organization, or go to his, you are affirming him, and responsible for what he preaches under your affirmation." Well if this is the standard then what do you think about Jesus entering the home of Zaccheus? Was he endorsing the deceitful life of Zaccheus when he entered his home to sup with him? Just because you go to speak somewhere does not mean that you agree with everything that organization stands for, that's just ridiculous. What about being the light in the place of darkness? If we turned away from every opportunity to witness in a placw that is contrary to our beliefs, then what world are we evangelizing. Who will reach those people if we go cowering at the first sign of different doctrines? Think about it! We cannot stay in our safe little Christian circles where everyone looks and speaks just like us. That is more self centered than any message being preached by Schuller or anyone else. We must go out into the world, that never means that we are of it.

It's good to go out and be a light in darkness. It's also good to invite darkness(a lost soul) into your light(church) to hear the WORD. BUT, to invite darkness to be the one doing all the teaching is not good.

    2. JESUS WAS THROWN OUT AFTER HE SPOKE AT THE SYNAGOGUE
      Posted On: 04/08/08 09:41:53 AMAge 64, OH
Jesus did NOT eat at the house of every Jew but He did eat at the house of Zaccheus because of the public repentance that Zaccheus made. A much better comparison is when Jesus went to the synagogue that the pharisees were the leaders of and preached. Most of the pharisees were preaching death and not life. But some of the pharisees were possibly not preaching lies for they recognized the fact that Jesus was from God. But there is a big difference here. There was still freedom for anyone to preach. Another bid difference is that Jesus was thrown out of every synagogue that He preached in. Lou

The feedbacks are right on.It might be interesting to some that the State of California went overboard in promoting "Self Esteem"in their schools. They would tell a young student that calculated four plus four was seven that their answer was OK because they tried. No matter that the answer was wrong, but make them "feel good".There are kids today that are permanently damaged. So it is with this "Feel Good"message preached today.Make them feel good by ignoring sound doctrine, the Blood, repentance, our sin, righteous and on and on.How many are being misled and lied to just to enlarge someones church.I guess being led by The Holy Spirit is not as effective as a mega-church model,as if it is THEIR church and that they know best.

I appreciate you taking a stand in these last days for the truth! I know you will come against some harsh ridicule with this unpopular but necessary message, but don't give up. You are fighting the good fight! "Blessed are those who suffer persecution for my name sake." We support your beliefs and agree fully. We also try to pass this information on to our small group Bible study. We need to get this information out so many will not be deceived. We will pray for your continued courage, through the power of the Holy Spirit, to keep your ear to the ground and investigate and expose the false doctrine being spread abroad. This video was very informative and you supported opposition to Schuller with strong and effective biblical examples. Your presentation is straightforward and bold, as it should be. We have the truth and should not be afraid or ashamed to stand for it. Videos like this will help us to declare biblical truth effectively. It's frightening to think how many are following Schuller's teaching. Thank you for exposing him in this area. We have attended 3 WVW's and 1 mini-WVW and loved them all. Keep it up Brannon! "The Lord is with thee, thou mighty man of valour..Go in this thy might..have not I sent thee?" Judges 6:12,14

Let's pray for the true salvation of Dr. Robert Schuller, that he might yet come to the knowledge of the Truth, preach it from his pulpit, and teach it in his books, recanting the false doctrine so widely spread by Christian "happy talk." It is anything but Christian; it is the antithesis to the very life and purpose of Christ Jesus. Amen in His name to the thoughts expressed in this video.

Yours is like the voice in the wilderness. The wide path that many take has always sounded the barking dog in my heart... the watchman in my brain that guards against deceivers in sheep's clothing. Thanks for sniffing out the blind guides in the pulpits and sounding the alarm for those that choose to hear.

Excellent, excellent, excellent! When I view any Brannon Howse video lately, I feel like I am not alone anymore!...so many people in my own circle think that the Osteens and Schullers of today are so wise and correct in their preaching. Thank you for speaking the truth, Brannon. It is getting to be a scary truth, but the church has been so gradually deceived into believing "self-help speeches" are the same as sermons and the Word of God.
