Too funny: "Biblical illiteracy creates weird theology". I'd say biblical literacy creates weird theology, too. Ever read that bible thingy? Tales of talking donkeys, unicorns, zombies, giants, flaming swords... It's wacky!

It is sad to hear about this problem, but it is true. I saw it in the lives of missionaries sent out by churches. In fact, they created more HARM than good to Christians in China. Missionaries refused to take turns leading Sunday school for their kids saying they are not called for children ministry. A missionary who worked 8 years in Jerusalem, came into China, cannot speak Chinese, went to ordain a very young Christian as a pastor and this young guy became so proud that he is one of the few ordained pastor in whole China. An America AOG pastor who works in China does not believe in equipping people before they are send out, he believes in sending people to die for Christ, missionaries instead of impacting communities organized more meetings in a week to meet their own personal needs instead of doing God's work, lots and lots of opportunities to do God's work, but no one is willing to do saying 'REST and Intimacy with God' is all that is in life, and the list goes on.... This is the MISSION FORCE sent out by the CHURCH!!! Let all truly born-again Christian fast and pray in groaning and moaning that there will be revival in the Church; that Christians can live up their life and disciple the nations...becomes ambassadors to the nations...for His glory sake..Amen

The trouble with the Church is 2 fold: 1.) the Truth of the Word is not taught. Too many pastors and denominations as a whole either don't know the truth or have their reasons for not teaching the truth found in the scriptures. Ultimately, they fall, tripped up by their own erroneous teachings, and the seeking Yeshua become distrustful of the Church. 2.)Is the fact that the pastors, or clergy fail to teach that it isn't by our strength or abilities, but by the strength, wisdom and ablities of the Father working through the Son, who tabernacles within us (see John 14:10). We are to live our lives by the life of Another, just as Yeshua taught us too in John 14:10, yet most pastors teach that congregation has to go out and 'do it for YHVH or it won't get done!', what a load of junk. Eventually they pay the consequences of their errant teachings and their church begans to fall apart, for any Church who puts its faith in its own works are distant for doom! Just my opinion! Mark

I totally agree with this brief talk. I wish more pastors, teachers and elders would narrow their views to help our people see a living example of taking a stand for Christ. Steve in Colorado.

Baptists are not Catholic or Protestant
Posted On: 08/01/07 11:13:48 PM Age 44, IN
Mr. Kroll, I couldn't agree with more on this article, but when I heard you refer to Protestant ministers as opposed to Catholic, it reminded me that all my life (until I started studying Baptist history recently), I thought that if you claimed to be a Christian, and weren't Catholic then you must be Protestant. You had to be one or the other, and that all the other Christian denominations all were sub-categories under the Protestant banner. But, I just learned last semester that the believers from apostolic days can be followed through the years and what you find is that they are modern-day Baptists. BAPTISTS NEVER WERE PROTESTANTS!! They have been persecuted since Jesus' day. Baptist doctrine is the same today as it was back when Jesus was here on earth. It is very distinct. Baptists do not baptist babies. They baptize believers. Baptism does not save you. It is an act of obedience (immersion not sprinkling) after your spiritual rebirth. Baptists believe that there is no hierarchy, no authority but the Lord. (Priesthood of the believer). They also believe in the separation of church and state. Each church should be independent, and autonomous. Bible is their only text.

Dear Sirs, I believe that Dr. Kroll is completely on target, and would love for the more liberal churches in this country to hear what he has to say!!! And I think it's a good reminder to folk with a Biblical worldview of what they are dealing with...maybe within their own church, but certainly in the broader meaning of Christian Church and in the world. Thank you for this video. In Christ, Barbara Stephens

I agree mostly with what was said, but I think that someone with a Biblical worldview should believe that it is possible to contact the dead. 1 Samuel 28 is about Saul using a medium to contact Samuel after Samuel had died.

Yes, Saul did attempt to contact Sameul and managed to bring something up. But if you read the rest of the book, Saul paid for contacting the dead and his disregard for YHVH's commands with his life as well as that of Jonathan's, his son. Contacting the dead is something that is forbidden, in Christianity. Saul certainly isn't someone to mimic, as the evil spirits that fell upon him, as a result of YHVH turning from him, drove him insane! Mark

This is a wonderful talk and so true. This information could wake up some sleepy deceived Christians or some who only think they are Christians, but are not born of the Spirit. It is good to know there are young pastors out there who still preach the Word of God.

amen woodrow, my question is this, why arent more real born again people correcting and confronting those with world views instead of GODLY views. All i hear is you cant judge, HOGWASH! if they have worldy views more than bible views, are they SAVED? DUH, is it that tough to see? THOSE saved will KNOW the word, not follow the piped piper into hell. THEY will be informed by the word, as to HOW to live their lives, not informed by the world. ITS CLEAR to see when people are LIVING Like the WORLD< the WORLD is their GOD. THAT is who they are serving. CHOSE today WHOM you will SERVE? WHO are we serving, yet claiming to be saved. ITS about time, for PEOPLE to come out of the "YOU CANT JUDGE CLOSEST and JUDGE like PAUL COMMANDED us to do. JUDGE them as UNSAVED, when they DO LINE up with what a CHRISTIAN IS!!! PERIOD and stop the FOOLING around.

We've made the mistake of collectively pursuing a Biblical Worldview. We should have pursued a non-contradictory Worldview, then we would have found out it is Biblical. Christians have abstract beliefs because it is the only way we know how to agree without contradiction. I wrote "Modeling God" in order to present a non-contradictory Worldview and prove Christians don't know what they believe. Apologetics are defensive. There are four tools that have been used since the beginning of time to determine truth: contrastive thinking, non-contradiction, causality, and growth vs. comfort. I have seen teenagers use these four principles to outthink PhD theologians and pastors who use apologetics. Every wrong interpretation of the Bible uses the opposite of these four principles. Check out www.modelinggod.com for more information and please give me your feedback.

The simple reason why "American 'Churches' (sic) Are in Big Trouble" is because they dare to call themselves "churches." The church is the Body of Christ - all those who are born-again, blood-bought believers in and children of the living Lord Jesus Christ - PERIOD. If one is a born-again, blood-bought believer in and child of Christ, he is a member of THE CHURCH. He need not be a "member" of any other institutional organization that calls itself "a church," and if he is, it has nothing to do with whether or not he is a member of THE CHURCH. Put another way: if one is able to become a "member" of the First Baptist Church of Whoville, yet not be a member of THE CHURCH (not be a born-again, blood-bought believer in and child of Christ) - and nobody here would say that that is not possible - then what exactly is the First Baptist Church of Whoville in relationship to THE CHURCH and the scriptures? It is an idol. Our problem in Christianity today is that most of us are pursuing not Christ, but churchianity, and until we come out from the idol called the institutional church, we will continue to damn to hell the souls of the millions who are trusting in the teachings of some institutional church (and they are not just Roman Catholics).

A well done clip I wish I could of heard the whole thing. In the church today I agree what is going on even the pastors and some denominations do not have a biblical world view. I just finished reading and studing the book of Acts and I did not see any instance in which the early church brought the unconverted in instead they went out preached to them then the converted were brought into the church. Our church is in need of the cleansing fire of God. Please pray for the church.

I'd rather have a Jesus worldview and be Jesus literate than know the Bible back and forth. I could memorize the Bible and still be totally unregenerate. I think we're focusing on externals instead of deep internal change that happens only when Jesus makes the change.

What is the basis for a "Jesus worldview"? How does one become "Jesus literate"? Where would one learn about this Jesus? May I suggest nowhere but the Bible!

Actually, we are to continually study and meditate on the scriptures, according to scriptures, so that we can know the face of our Savior. If you neglect to study the scriptures, you won't be able to tell the false prophets and teachers from the righteous one's. One of the main characteristics of a person who is truly saved, is their ravenous hunger for the Word and the truth that comes with it. You can't not love the study of the word and claim to love the Savior, for they are one in the same, something you may not have known or understood, due to your professed lack of study. Another reason for studying the Word as often as possible, is if your don't put something good in your mind, like the scriptures, the void left will be filled in by the worldly things! Just some friendly advice. Mark

Please consider your replies in relation to the following scriptures: John 1v1-4 "In the beginning, the Word existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God. He existed in the beginning with God. Through him all things were made, and apart from him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life brought light to humanity." (Jesus is the Word not the scriptures and His life brings light or understanding and love) John 14v26 "But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and remind you of all that I have told you." (The Holy Spirit is our teacher because man is fallible)
