Methodological Naturalist

There is, indeed, evidence for possible design in the universe, possibly even supernatural. Scientist, however, must assume, for the purpose of inquiry, that only natural causes apply in the cosmos. This is methodological naturalism. To allow for supernatural causes for phenomena would give scientists a ready-made explanation for anything and thus could lead to scientific dead-ends.
Secondly, suppose one acknowedges intelligent design in the cosmos, how does one make the leap from there to a particular religious belief system, say Christianity, with it's particular religious texts, docrines and creeds.
The religious beliefs we hold are generally those of the culture we are born into---an accident of geography. Can it be possible that God has distributed religious truth on a regional basis? Click here to reply to this post
