Keep sharing this good news. It is the power of God for salvation to everyone who would believe. It doesn't really matter what people say about it, it doesn't change the reality that it's true! It's everyone's choice whether they want to believe. The consequences go with their decision.

The reason Jesus had to die on the cross was to carry all our sins down to hell and leave them. To enter heaven we must be pure as a newborn lamb.Jesus is the only way to heaven all other roads lead to eternal damnation.

"Christianity is not a religion. It is not an -ism. It is about one person, you, having a relationship with one person, Jesus. It is a friendship, a sibling relationship with Jesus."
The New Testament calls christian belief a "religion" ("eusebeia" or "theskeia" in Greek):
1 Timothy 5:4 (New International Version)
"But if a widow has children or grandchildren, these should learn first of all to put their religion ['eusebeia'] into practice by caring for their own family and so repaying their parents and grandparents, for this is pleasing to God."
James 1:26-27
"If anyone considers himself religious and yet does not keep a tight rein on his tongue, he deceives himself and his religion is worthless. Religion ['threskeia'] that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world."
I also don't see how you can have a "relationship" with someone who reportedly disappeared (assuming he didn't just die) nearly 2,000 years ago. People in other religions claim they have relationships with personal deities (for example, many Hindus). But you would consider these people delusional. What makes you any different?

I don't get it.

Religions don't need a founder who could allegedly perform miracles, claimed divinity or reportedly "rose from the dead" to account for their success. Even in recent times, the new religion of Scientology has thrived with a thoroughly mortal founder who by the cult's own admission wrote bad pulp science fiction earlier in his life.
The sheep analogy also made me laugh. A coating of sheep's blood can fool your all-knowing god?

It is not an -ism.
It is about one person, you, having a relationship with one person, Jesus.
It is a friendship, a sibling relationship with Jesus. He is the Son of God. You can be his brother by adoption.
There is only one person perfect enough for getting into Heaven....that's Jesus.
So if you are "In Christ" then where He goes, you go. That means you go to Heaven IN Christ.
Also, the lamb blood doesn't "fool God" it is a symbol for us. A tool God uses to teach us the horribleness of sin and how the innocent paid the price. The blood applied to us just teaches us to accept that reality.

| Posted On: 11/19/08 07:01:55 PM | | Age 48, KS | John 3:3 Jesus answered and said unto him: "Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God."
John 3:16-18 "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have eternal life."
"For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through Him might be saved."
"He that believeth on Him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God."
Romans 3:23-25 For all have sinned, and come short of the Glory of God;
Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in His blood, to declare His righteousness for the remission of sins that are past through the forbearance of God;
Romans 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:
Romans 5:17-19 For if by one man's offense death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall resign in life by one, Jesus Christ.
Therefore as by the offense of one judgement came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.
For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteousness.
1 Timothy 2:3-6 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior;
Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.
For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Jesus Christ.
Who gave himself in ransom for all, to be testified in due time.

Christ is the sacrificial lamb whose life was given freely in obedience to God's will so that you and I might have eternal life.
